Commissions We have a range of artists on our books who are happy to undertake commissions. This service ranges from portraits of family or friends, pets or property, to the creation of your own copy of a piece by one of the Great Masters. Arranging a commission offers the opportunity to create a truly unique and amazing gift, at prices that are often lower than might be expected. How do I arrange a commission ? In the first instance get in touch with us here at the gallery, either by visiting us, or e-mail trisha@obsidianart.co.uk or telephone 01296 612150. We will discuss your requirements and can e-mail or show you a portfolio of commission work undertaken by a selection of artists according to your requirements. How long does a commission take to be produced ? This will vary according to the artist selected. Some artists have a waiting list for commissions, but some may be able to start your commission fairly promptly. Some artists are willing to work from photographs, but most require at least one, but often two or three sittings to be able to c omplete a portrait. The length of time taken to complete the work will vary according to the size and complexity of the picture you want and the medium chosen (for example, a pencil drawing will be quicker to produce than an oil on canvas). When we discuss your requirements, we can give you a better indication of the time it will take to produce according to your needs and the artist you select to undertake the work.
