"Four Seasons" - A Themed Exhibition
Friday 10 August - Monday 17 August 2012
This themed exhibition features selected work inspired by the seasons. Each featured artist will be exhibiting a series depicting each season, or a single piece incorporating all four. The exhibition includes a wide range of media including paintings, printmaking, photography, textiles, ceramics, glass and jewellery, and includes work by several artists and makers exhibiting at Obsidian Art for the first time.

Calligrapher Rosi Baxter has created four wonderful canvases with poetry extracts relating to the seasons. The canvases are finished with gold leaf detailing.
Rosi is exhibiting at Obsidian Art for the first time.
The exhibition features four seasonal tree paintings by Mark, painted in acrylic with crystal detailing.

Margot Andrew has produced a series of leaf pendants for the exhibition. The pieces shown here is 'Spring' and is hand crafter using titanium and silver. Margot also uses enamels in her pieces.
Margot is exhibiting at Obsidian Art for the first time.
Regular exhibitor at Obsidian Art, Paul Higgins, has created a series of four canvases featuring dreamy, idyllic woodland landscapes.
Several photographers are featured in the exhibition, including Nick Wiltshire.
Nick has created a series of mesmerising photographs of an oak tree through the seasons entitled "Enduring Patroral".
Carole is Inspired by the fragility and tenacity of the wild plants and weeds she saw from her window whilst ill. She is exhibiting a series of photograms of these same plants. “Placing them directly on to photographic paper I use sunlight to capture their image. It is an imprecise process that produces ephemeral and transient moments which hint at the object within the image and beyond into the talismanic qualities that I once searched for.”
Carole is exhibiting at Obsidian for the first time.
CAnna is exhibiting a series of four large textural semi-abstract canvases using a mixture of acrylics and oils.
Each canvas is between 1m to 1.2m square.
Anna is exhibiting at Obsidian for the first time.
