How to Submit Work

We welcome submissions for any of our themed shows from artists and makers based in the UK - see below for details of the exhibitions we are currently inviting entries for.

It's free to exhibit at Obsidian - the gallery charges NO ENTRY or HANGING FEE. We take a fixed commission percentage on any sales we make on your behalf.

Sculpture Garden

We now have a lovely outdoor courtyard garden and we're always looking for unusual and interesting work to display outside. Please contact us if you are interested in showing work outside with us.

"The Horse in Art"
12 July - 11 August 2013
Our annual equine themed exhibition. All styles & equine themes in any media welcome - painting, illustration, drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles, glass, wood, metal, jewellery, etc. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to The Home of Rest for Horses. Email up to 10 images along with details on medium, size & selling price guide.

"Dogs & Cats"
17 August - 8 September 2013
Feline & canine themed exhibition. All styles & dog & cat subjects in any media welcome - painting, illustration, drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles, glass, wood, metal, jewellery, etc. A percentage of proceeds will be donated to Hearings Dogs for the Deaf. Email up to 10 images along with details on medium, size & selling price guide.

"The Art of Poetry"
March 2014
Following on from the success of our 2013 exhibition, we are delighted to be calling for entries again for this exciting ehibition of art and craft inspired by poetry. The exhibition will be accompanied by a book with selected art and poems from the show. All mediums welcome - painting, illustration, drawing, printmaking, photography, ceramics, textiles, glass, wood, metal, jewellery, etc. Email us for full entry details.

British-based artists & makers are invited to submit entries to any of the exhibitions above. We welcome all media - painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewellery, textiles, wood, metal, photography, etc, etc. Send up to 10 images, preferably by email (maximum 2 to 3MB total email size please) to : trisha@obsidianart.co.uk , or post us a CD or memory stick along with an SAE. Please include details of size, medium & price.
Alternatively you can make an appointment to bring your work in to show us.

We also show 3d work and jewellery on an ongoing basis, so if you think your work would fit in at Obsidian and you're based in the UK you can send images any time.
We prefer you to send your images via email, but please keep the emails to a maximum of 2 to 3MB. Email a selection of your work to trisha@obsidianart.co.uk along with details on media, sizes and prices and an artist biography.

Please be patient as we receive many requests, so it may take us a while to get back to you.
